Privacy Policy - Earthquake Alerts Live Tracker

Earthquake Alerts Live Tracker ("the App") is developed by HaSha. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and your choices regarding that information.

1. Information We Access

Location Data

The App accesses your device's location only when you explicitly enable "Smart Alerts" in Settings. This location is used one time to set a center point for filtering nearby earthquake alerts. Location data is stored only on your device (locally) and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party. You can disable this feature at any time in the App's settings.

Notification & Background Monitoring

The App runs a background service to check for new earthquakes periodically, even when the App is closed. This is used solely to deliver earthquake alert notifications. No personal data is collected or transmitted during this process.

Advertising

The App displays ads through Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads). To serve and measure ads, AdMob may collect and use device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID), general device information, and approximate location, in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy and Google AdMob's data disclosure. You can manage your ad personalization preferences through your device's Google Settings.

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any personal identifiers.
• We do not use analytics trackers of our own.
• We do not sell your data. Some data is shared with Google AdMob solely to serve ads, as described above.

2. Third-Party Data Sources

The App fetches public earthquake data from two independent scientific agencies:

• United States Geological Survey (USGS) - earthquake.usgs.gov (public domain data)
• European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC/CSEM) - emsc-csem.org (data licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International, CC BY 4.0)

These are read-only public data feeds. No personal information is sent to these services.

The App displays maps using Google Maps Platform (Maps SDK for Android). When a map is loaded, Google may receive your device's IP address and general usage data in order to serve map imagery, in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. No other personal data is shared with Google through the map display.

The App is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing USGS, EMSC, or Google.

3. Permissions Used

• Internet: To fetch live earthquake data, display maps, and serve ads.
• Location (optional): Only for the "Smart Alerts" feature, described above.
• Notifications: To alert you about new earthquakes.
• Foreground Service: To keep monitoring for earthquakes while the App runs in the background.
• Battery Optimization Exemption (optional): To improve reliability of background alerts. This is optional and requested only if you choose to enable it in Settings.

4. Data Storage

All settings and preferences (such as your chosen region, magnitude filter, and alert preferences) are stored locally on your device using standard Android app storage. This data is not transmitted to us or any third party.

5. Data Export

The App allows you to export earthquake data (sourced from USGS/EMSC) as CSV or PDF files. These files are generated and saved locally on your device; nothing is uploaded to our servers.

6. Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The App is a general information tool suitable for all ages. Ad content is served in accordance with Google AdMob's policies for general-audience apps.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
